MOANA

moanaInspiration. There’s one word that would best the animated film Moana. It is very timely as well as very entertaining. Of course, Disney will forever never ever disappoint me. (I am a big Disney fan!) So, this newest musical spectacular is one in a million for me.

The movie basically follows the journey and adventures of Moana. She’s a young woman who is a daughter of the Chief and is on her way to become the first female chief. In her pursuit to find the problems of her tribe in the island, she pursues the vastness of the blue sea.

There are a lot of things that I should be proud of this animated movie. First of all, she’s a leader that respect’s her family and her tribe and also their island but then she’s not afraid of discovering what is outside of the norm for the goodness of every one. It’s a good thing that Disney constantly breaks the stereotypical females or princesses.

Moana is voiced by a newcomer named Auli’l Cravalho and I must say she’s a fresh and positive addition to the long list of Disney princesses we have. Also, Dwayne Johnson. Good lawd. Everybody loves him already but I guess, a lot of people will love him even more! I’d never expect The Rock could be oh so cuddly and oh so charming voice wise. And yes, an addition is that FYI people, The Rock can sing. He gave life to the demigod named Maui that will accompany Moana in her journey to return a magical stone which is the heart of a god named Te Fiti.

Disney isn’t Disney without the plenty musical numbers and songs. I’d probably go for all the songs because it just made the movie more meaningful. The songs are all catchy (still on LSS with Maui’s “You’re Welcome” song), enjoyable and fun.

There was some stuff in the movie that kids may consider a scary one but nah, I think they’ll be fine. Also, the cuteness of the rest of the movie will make up for it. Most especially the “coconut” pirates that were supposed to be some kind of villain but ended up to be one of the most adorable thing in Moana.

Moana is not your typical princess. Nope. She’s just the daughter of the chief. That’s what she said. 
